We are so lucky to live in New York City, it is a classroom in itself. Students can learn about science, literature, and history all by exploring NYC. Our class will go on various trips throughout the year so students can learn through hands on real life experiences. Check back soon for upcoming trip dates !

Neighborhood Walk As a part of our community unit, children will go on a walk of their neighborhood exploring what makes a urban community. *Cost: Free *Time: *Transportation: Walking
Union Square Green Market (November) Students will learn about local farmers and the produce they grow. Students will get a chance to speak with actual farmers and try the fruits and vegetables that they grow. *Cost: $ *Time: *Transportation: Subway *We will enjoy lunch in the park afterwards, weather permitting.
High-Line (Nov or May) Students will discover the people, plants, and animals that made up Mannahatta! Students will identify plants used by the Lenape Native American tribe, explore how animals depend on native habitats, and make their own Plant Guide *Cost: $ *Time: *Transportation:

Poet House (April) Students will explore the poet house where real poets come to create poems. Students will listen to various poems from real poets, and get the chance to become poets themselves. *Cost: Free *Time: *Transportation: Subway *We will enjoy lunch in the park afterwards, weather permitting.
Museum of N.Y.C (Jan/Feb) Students will learn about the geography of Mannahatta and life for the Lenape Indians during that time. Students will get to explore hands on resources and their use. *Cost: $ *Time: *Transportation: Bus
Transit Museum (Feb/March) Students will learn about the New York City Transportation System and how it has changed over time. Students will get to go on actual trains from past to present. *Cost: $ *Time: *Transportation: Subway
Eldridge Musuem (March/April) Students will learn about the Lower East Side in the 1800's focusing on architecture, immigration, holidays, and cultures. *Cost: $ *Time: *Transportation: Walking
